Floating Refraction gathers plastic bottles waste from local environment and bring it to the spotlights. This way they can live again, shine, illustrate, guide visitors and hopefully raise awareness about the subject.

 

Disposable plastic items are a huge problem. Plastic bottles, straws, cups, bags. These are mass produced to attend population’s simplest needs on daily basis. They make an allusion and a homage to the local fishing activity as a relatable and recognizable aspect of Cascais.

 

Floating Refraction aims to cause a change of perspective as refraction does to objects submerged, but hopefully inside people’s minds.
