INSTALAÇÃO LUMINOSA
Gazouillis
At LUMINA, hundreds of light birds soar over Cascais, as if they had stepped out of a dream.
Created from recycled plastic cans, they took shape through the imagination of BIBI and children from Cascais and Lyon, in a creative process that transforms waste into art.
Each bird is unique and carries with it a story — the story of how we can reinvent what already exists, give life to the discarded, and create beauty from what was once waste.
Between the real and the imaginary, this installation invites us to look at the sky and imagine a lighter, more sustainable future, where every gesture counts and flying higher is always possible.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Bibi
Bibi is a French visual artist who transforms everyday plastic objects into illuminated public installations. Operating at the intersection of paleontology and orthopedics, his work explores plastic as a marker of the Anthropocene. His sculptures suggest a convergence between the shapes of plastic objects and animal forms, creating pareidolic effects that blur the line between the artificial and the organic. By reusing mass-produced materials, Bibi questions overconsumption and the growing tide of plastic waste. His large-scale works, exhibited worldwide, play with contrasts between the natural and the synthetic, evolving around the themes of Hell and Paradise—the participatory piece GAZOUILLIS belonging to Paradise.
