INSTALAÇÃO LUMINOSA, LIVE PERFORMANCE
Mexican Lights
Rua Latino Coelho and Conde Ferreira transform into a vibrant corridor where Mexican tradition meets imagination. At the entrance, a festive archway welcomes visitors with papel picado, giant sombreros, and colorful garlands, creating an immersive atmosphere.
In this setting decorated with Mexican soul, the Alebrije Group brings the streets to life with folkloric performances full of color, rhythm, and emotion. Inspired by alebrijes—mythical creatures combining elements of various animals—the artists celebrate diversity and the fusion of identities through dance.
More than a performance, it is a sharing of stories and memories: a luminous bridge between cultures, where imagination is fueled by the sound, movement, and colors of a Mexico revealed across the Atlantic.

Alebrije. A Mexican folkloric group in Portugal, part of a Mexican folklorist movement that has gained presence in several European countries thanks to the recognition of audiences, artists, and academics — in our case, in Portugal.
With more than 50 performances over the past 10 years, we have learned from and presented to diverse audiences the richness and diversity of our music, dances, and costumes, the result of a fusion of styles that reflect our heterogeneous cultural heritage.
