Regulations for the Videomapping Open Call – “Dreams and Stories”

1. Context â€‹

This call is launched within the scope of the Lumina Festival, which aims to promote digital art and new media, inviting visual artists to create videomapping works inspired by the theme “Dreams and Stories.”

​

2. Theme 

​

​This year’s theme, “Dreams and Stories,” challenges participants to explore the narrative power of dreams, memories, and imagination through the language of videomapping. Proposals should creatively and coherently reflect this dreamlike and symbolic universe.

​

3. Eligibility 

​

The call is open to individual artists or collectives, national or international, aged 18 or older, with experience or interest in videomapping, visual arts, digital animation, or related fields. Participants must be at least 18 years old by the submission deadline.

4. Technical Specifications

​

  • Maximum duration: 60 seconds

  • Submission format: Final video in minimum resolution 1920x1080 (Full HD), codec H.264 or similar

  • Recommended frame rate: 30 fps

  • Audio must be synchronized and mixed in the final file

Selected participants will receive a template of the mapped façade and relevant technical documentation (format, projection points, etc.).

 

5. Selection Criteria

 The organization will select a limited number of works for public projection based on:

  • Creativity and originality

  • Relevance and interpretation of the “Dreams and Stories” theme

  • Technical quality of animation and/or visual composition

  • Integration with the architectural lines of the building

  • Expressive and coherent use of mapping effects

​

6. Voting and Prize 

​

  • Selected works will be screened during the festival in a public session. The winner will be chosen by public vote (on-site or online, as specified by the organization). 

  • The winning work will receive a monetary prize of €1,000 (one thousand euros). 

  • The voting results will be announced by September 22, 2025.

7. Deadlines

​

  • Call opens: July 12, 2025

  • Final submission deadline: August 31, 2025

  • Announcement of selected works: September 12–14, 2025

​

8. Submission Guidelines

​

Applications must be submitted to: resources@ocubo.com with the subject “Call Videomapping – Dreams and Stories”, including:

  • Full name of the artist or collective

  • Contact information (email and phone number)

  • Short biography or portfolio

  • Link or file of the proposal (video or preview)

  • Declaration of authorship and rights over the submitted content

9. Copyright and Usage 

​

  • Participants retain copyright over their submitted works. 

  • By submitting their proposals, artists authorize the organization to use excerpts of the works for promotional and communication purposes, both online and offline. 

  • Works must not include third-party copyrighted material without proper authorization.

10. Final Provisions 

​

  • Participation in this call implies full acceptance of these regulations. 

  • The organization reserves the right not to select any proposals if none meet the established criteria. 

  • Any doubts or omissions in this regulation will be resolved by the organization.​​​
